Needle/pointer lost!!!

My speedometer needle is missing... Can I use any 67-72 or even 72+ speedo needle/pointer? Can it be done? If so, any how to's or advice on removing a needle from another dash w/o damaging it and installing it to my 67 speedometer? Feedbacks are appreciated...thank you.

Re: Needle/pointer lost!!!

The speedometer needles are lightly pressed onto the shaft and can be carefully installed using your fingers. I am not sure if other then 67-72 years will fit or look right.

Re: Needle/pointer lost!!!

I'm not aware of a year difference....all the ones I've had have been the same. maybe someone else will verify they all interchange...

Re: Needle/pointer lost!!!

While we're on this topic... what's the process everyone uses for removing the needles from the speedo/fuel gauges?

I assume you just pull up, but didn't want to pull in the wrong way.

Re: Needle/pointer lost!!!

Huh... I've tried that recently and it didn't give any so I stopped. I didn't want to break it.
