bumper guard location
Anyone have a pic of a 68 with front bumper guards. I think they are located different than the 71-72, Anyone, thanks

They are mounted in the same place as the 71-72 style. They use the factory bumper bracket holes to attach them to the bumper. WES

I believe Wes is right. But,for some reason I seem to see more 67-70 guards mounted wide,like C/10 King shows,than at the frame rails/bumper mount location. IIRC,the instructions say at bumper mount location. They are an add-on so it's really where ever they'll work.

According to the insruction sheet that came with my nos brackets I just bought, has a template that measures 6 15/16 away from existing mounting hole, so will look like in the pic c10 king posted. I like that look but dont want to drill holes on my bumper, thanks guys

Ok,thanks for clearing that up. I think that's why some say the early style low-rise (67-70) don't fit 71/72 bumpers. They are mounting them inboard @ the bumper bolt location.
