Pesky Heater Core Bolt

Hi Everyone,

I'm currently in the process of removing the heater core apparatus in my 72. I've removed all of the bolts except one that I can't get my ratchet to. Has anyone ever had this problem? Any solutions? Here is a picture. The arrow points to about where the bolt is.

Re: Pesky Heater Core Bolt

i already had the inner fenders pulled out of mine, but i still pulled the bolts on the hood hinge on that side to make the box and bolts easier to get out... hood stayed up but i was able to drop the hinge down out of the way...

Re: Pesky Heater Core Bolt

You do know that is not the correct heater core don't you? And the heater core housing isn't supposed to look like that?

Re: Pesky Heater Core Bolt

Somebody sure did jerry rig your setup,I use a 1/4" drive with the right socket with a long extension plus a swivel on it for the nut.

Re: Pesky Heater Core Bolt

i figured he knew that but maybe not. yeah, if you're replacing the heater core with the factory part, you're gonna need a new heater box as well

Re: Pesky Heater Core Bolt

Yeah, I realize that this was not the factory heater core. This was quite a job that they pulled! Look what they used to cover the front. Haha, here's a picture:

Re: Pesky Heater Core Bolt

You do know there is still another bolt to the left of the one in the pic too?

I did mine a couple of weeks ago and dropped the inner fender.

Re: Pesky Heater Core Bolt

That's probably why they did it like they did, because either they didn't know how to get to the bolts or they were too lazy to do it right. I vote the latter.

I do know that, this picture was taken before I took the other bolts out.
