My truck had a 1990 Silverado bench in it when I bought it, fit was very nice. As for buckets, low backs look best, IMO. Any type of seat that can be seen through the back window just doesn't look period correct. Here is a link http://www.procarbyscat.com/Products_Lowback.asp I bought mine from Summit Racing, here is a link http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SCA-80-1400-51L/ Last edited by lakeroadster; 02-13-2011 at 03:57 PM. |

Re: seats
Oops, it looks as though the link I provided already broke.
I had just happen to be searching the forums on the same topic, so I posted a link that had many threads on this same topic. Of all the threads I read, the Buckets that LakeRoadster and Mark have are the most period style Buckets I've seen. They look very similar to Buddy Buckets Posted via Mobile Device

Re: seats
I had a 60/40 bench out of a Silverado in my '69. Dino has the split bench in his Burb, I think. That is the stock bench rather than the 60/40 seat, but same shape.

Re: seats
Well that bench i have is from a GM Truck 1988-94 I found it on a craigslist search. But i have been to three upholstry shops and they all say they are tuff to redo and want $400.00-$450.00 to recover it. Might go back to the stock bench i have if i cant find a better deal.

Re: seats
You should check out this months custom classic trucks. Theres a couple trucks in it with good looking seats out of random cars. The one has seats out of what I think was a 90's Buick Regal and the other out of a Dodge Neon, of all places...but heck they actually look good. lowbacks and good width. need to have them recovered though.

Re: seats
FYI, removing the gas tank is a great step, but it didn't do anything to allow me to put the seat further back because the top of the seat hits the back below the window before my track goes where the gas tank mounts.

If you are looking for more space it helps to install a steering wheel with less dish. I installed a Grant walnut grip wheel that is almost flat. Reason I bring this up is now is the time to change the wheel so that when you mount the seats you can adjust the seat height based on the wheel. Another idea I had to get more space was to recess the back cab inner panel. I was going to do this, but didn't need to with the new seats and steering wheel. |

Re: seats
I redrilled my floor and bolted it back down -2.5" farther to the rear, this gives much needed leg room and the angle of the back is fine. I also installed a tilt wheel from a 91 burb the wheel is flatter and smaller in diameter. It helped me a lot. Kieth 6' 295lbs
