Rally wheels and hub caps

Hey guys, I want to run 1965 corvette hub caps with thin whitewall tires on my 65 C10 Short Stepside. It has 8 in. vette rallys on it now and my question is..... will the vette wheel covers snap onto the rallys? I'm thinking they should.... just like a trim ring would. If I paint the rallys black then the slots would not be as noticeable through the caps? Any thoughts? the 65 caps are really good looking with the spinners and the wide rallys bring the tire out in the wheelwell nicely. I also have the original wheels that came with the truck and that might be an option with the vette caps also.

Re: Rally wheels and hub caps

My neighbor has a '64 327/365 horse roadster that he switches between rallys and his stock hubcaps all the time. The 'Vette cap will snap right on to the rally wheel, no problem. His rallys are the stock argent color, and even with the 'Vette caps installed, you don't see the slots in the wheels.

Not sure if the '65 cap is different from the '64 cap, though. His are the ones with the spinners and very heavy, if that's any help.

Re: Rally wheels and hub caps

Thanks chevyrestoguy!! I thought they would work, This should be a unique look. I seen a picture in a 1968 Hot Rod magazine of a 65 or 66 C10 truck that was lowered and pushing a dragster and it had vette caps with thin whitewalls.....It's a classic look indeed. I'm just seeing too many torque thrust and rally wheels, even though I like them alot!!!! Just want something different

Re: Rally wheels and hub caps

I thought vette rallye wheels were 5 X 4 3/4 , the older trucks were of course 6 lug and truck disc rotors are 5 X 5, if you have truck rallyes I am not sure if the hub caps will work or not. Kieth

Re: Rally wheels and hub caps

Hi Kieth, I have Stockon Wheel aftermarket vette rallys.....6 lug with drums all the way around. The full wheel covers should fit as a trim ring does, with the expansion ring on the cover... it should snap into place. All that matters is the full wheel cover is 15 inches in dia. as the wheel. The lug pattern would not effect anything here.
