removed windshield tonight
and boy did that suck! took me like an hour and a half of cutting around the old seal to get it out. That 43 year old rubber was kinda hard! Used a razor knife and lots of pressure. it finally popped out. now gotta clean up the frame area and get an installer to come put in my new (used) one. whew!

Re: removed windshield tonight
Took the windshield and back glass out of my old cab, on Sunday. The windshield had several cracks so it wasn't a show-stopper. The rubber had additional sealer, but after getting it out, I was amazed that the opening was as nice as it was. The back glass opening is even nicer.
But, if you are going to be doing it, shave off the rubber on the inside of the cab. Cut it across the top and down the sides. When you have enough of it removed, the window will push out from the inside. Just be ready to catch it.

Re: removed windshield tonight
old blue, no my cab is pretty rusty, it's a ky. truck that came from In. so it had quite a bit of rust in the windshield frame- im gonna wire wheel it and paint it and put the new glass in though- my truck is supposed to be a beater so i'll drive is as it is. I'll get a better cab for it someday!

Re: removed windshield tonight
How bad is it if you have rust under and around the windshield? Mine has a little at the top corners on both sides, outside only

Re: removed windshield tonight
if it's there, it's probably hiding in many places you can't see... Mine has rust thru in the roof header panel, and lower a-pillars, and floors... Had roof clearance lights sometime in its previous life and water must have leaked down thru roof
