Starter HELP need advice

Hello Guys

Her is my problem I have my truck in storage for the winter so yesturday
I went to try to start it and it is make a LOUD winding noise it dosent sound as if anything is grinding When you turn the key it makes this noise it never did this before I put it in storage I have been Worried sick about the flex plate that I may have did some damage to the teeth I only cranked on it a few times then left it alone please I need some advice

Sounds like the starters throw out isn't engaging, I'd take the starter off and bench check it.
