Cigarette lighter wire?

Anyone know what the large orange wire coming from the cig. lighter spot in the fusebox would be for. It doesn't go to a cigarette lighter. This is in a 68 C20 with AC. It looks like it goes into the heater/AC controls, but couldn't tell for sure. Was trying to hook up new cigarette lighter and there's a wire there already. Thanks.

Re: Cigarette lighter wire?

Don't know about an orange wire. The radio power wire is red though. The wire that goes to the heater or A/C wire harness it brown. WES

Re: Cigarette lighter wire?

I unplugged it and the radio and heater/ac still works. Guess i'll have to pull the vent ducts off to see where it really goes.

Re: Cigarette lighter wire?

On my 71, the large orange wire connected to the "cig" terminal goes to the blower motor relay on an A/C truck. The brown wire goes to the blower control switch. This is correct according to the A/C wiring diagram in the service manual. The cigarette lighter wire is connected to the "ign unfused" terminal.
