66 GMC Turn Signals

Should a 66 GMC suburban have self canceling turn signals? Mine doesnt self cancel, but maybe it should, and its just got a bad switch.

It may just be the plastic canceling cam that attaches to the switch. The ears on them get brittle and break off.

I knoticed that the whole lever sits a little low in the slot.
