Just like it says it looks like I'm going to be working away from home alot this summer and I want to tow my 70 (with some fuel and a spare for the big truck) behind it...100 mile max

Put it on a trailer, or a tow bar works allright also. If you have an auto trans, i would dis- connect the drive shaft if towing.

If it's an automatic pull the driveline out then tow all you want,If it's a 4 speed you don't HAVE to but I would.

Like the other's said, disconnect the driveshaft from the rear axle , just bungee it to the frame..remember to put a piece of tape over the caps on the u-joint(or you'll lose them like I did..) and use a towbar, they work great.

Re: I need to tow my truck..help

I was afraid you guys where going to say that...

Pulling the DS is out of the question..I was hoping to just drag and drop since when I'm unhooking it it will be early AM when I get out of work I don't have time to fool around putting it back in then finding a hotel to stay....as far as the trailer it maybe an option but 1 I need a trailer ( mine is enclosed) 2 where do I put it when I get to the job and not worry about it disappearing??
