Re: Rear end width?

6-lug 55.5" = 67-69 (and some 1970 models)

5-lug 57" = 71-72 (and some 6-lug 1970 models)

These measurements are from backing plate to backing plate.

Re: Rear end width?

Thank You! I measured from where the backing plate and axle housing flange mate up and it measured 58". It is hard to get A good measurment laying on your back under A lowered truck and A gas tank in your way. So I have the 70 6 lug with the wide rear end.

Re: Rear end width?

I should be able to bolt the narrower rear end in my truck right. I know I would have A wheel issue (maybe).

Re: Rear end width?

I got these measurments from N2Billet (Stella Mae) so I am positive they are correct. From what I understand, he changed out to the narrower rear end in his truck and it helped the wheels tuck a little more. He knows a WHOLE lot more about it and is super cool to talk to. I'd suggest running it by him to be sure but personally I think the answer would be yes, as long as it's leaf for leaf or coil for coil of course. .. I think it would work. If my truck doesn't have the narrower one I'm going to be trying it too. I have never measured mine. I just had the information from him and thought I'd share it with you.
