GMC Dash

I have been looking at a 1962 4x4 Suburban. I see on this truck and most of the other early 1960's GMC trucks that there are two plugs in the dash between the heater control and the glove box door. What is the purpose of these plugs / holes?

Re: GMC Dash

I think one of them was an optional lighter but I am not sure what the other was. Every GMC dash I have seen has the plugs.

Re: GMC Dash

Do you have any pics of the 62?
I just picked one up last month and I have a hard time finding others.
Thanks,
AJ

Sorry, I don't have any pictures. If I go back, I will try to get some.

Re: GMC Dash

Here's a thread asking the same question about a year ago.

Didn't really come up with a definite answer, but I'm guessing they were for something pertaining to a big rig, although A/C controls are a possibility.
