I got mine on Ebay, it is a GM Restoration part, cost me $200 plus shipping and it was already black in color, no need to paint. The Coverlay is all plastic, so it's not as pliable as the replacement dash pad, which is padded somewhat.

I guess I will be going with the EXPENSIVE way outta this. The new dash. Has any one heard of covering the dash with tweed or other fabrics? That is my other option. Someone told me that it is not expensive to have an apulstry shop cover it.

I covered mine in grey vynle and it looks good just a little tighter fit than before cloth would probably be easier yet.

Thanks for the advice and info guys!! I have narrowed down my options to either a new dash, or getting my old dash coverd. My only other question is would cloth on the dash deteriorate from the sun being on it all the time?

Cool

I would think so, unless it was treated with some kind of UV protection. Some people buy those carpeted dash covers to put over their dashes to prevent this.

I guess the tweed (or whatever material I go with) should be cheap enough to where if it falls apart in a year, I will just redo it.

It depends on the color too. A darker color is going to fade alot more than a lighter color. Fabric, vinyl or otherwise.

78SilveradoSWB, do you already have yours installed? I'll be needing something for my 74 & although the price looks good, I'm more concerned about how well it fits. I would spend the extra $$ for an original if possible, but can't seem to find any.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.
It's like a highly skilled Morrocan sword fighter with a Damascus Steel Scimitar.....

Cubic inches is like Indiana Jones with a cheap pistol.

Thumbs up

I had it on for fit and fits like a glove. It's currently off now cause I am working on the dash and don't want to accidently damage it while I am screaming.

No problems, paid using postal money order (I feel more secure on higher dollar stuff, just in case, know Uncle Sam will prosecute if there was any fraud) and it arrive via UPS promptly. I think he works days and sells at night, so email communication is limited.
