Re: 1 piece window
I got kit from no limit, about 350 lousy instructions, you have to cut your doors out for working room and cut you wing post and spot weld brackets they fit like crap, I welded the cut out panel back and got vent wings from bone yard and put back as before way to much work your really butcher your door up, hey this is my opinion but I would not do it, very time involved.

Re: 1 piece window
Kenny Strong,
I did the one piece power windows and am glad I did. It is a lot of work but worth it in the end. I used Rodtronics power window kit and had the tinted glass cut , beveled and polished egdes by a local glass co. in Campbell , Ca. Probably the most important part of the job was welding a piece of rod under the rolled edge of the door skin for support. The door flexed quite a bit without it. It takes a lot of fitment time to get it right so that the window tracks up and down fully and clears everything. As a recommendation, BE PATIENT! I did it 7 years ago ,so if there is a kit available now, I would use it!! |

Thank you both for the kudo's !! I'm glad you guys like it. I am currently in the process of a few upgrades. A new 1000+ hp motor, new diff/center section, upgrading the interior with new gauge panel and stereo amps. Will post new pics once its running.

Re: 1 piece window
Hi Slepysal, Thanks! I lived in the San Jose are until 5 years ago.I used to take the truck to the Thurs. nite car show/gatherings at Union Av/Bascom Ave. Occsaionally to Big Dogs on Foxworthy. Before I painted the truck, I probably had 20 people tell me it "wouldn't look right". Guess they were wrong. John |

Re: 1 piece window
Hey QWYKTRUK I've seen your truck before. Did you have a .gif of it somewhere with the parking lights blinking by chance? It's beautiful for sure. Why don't you start another thread and post up all the money shots for us?

I have had pics of the truck on several sites but not with blinking lights. I am about a month away from having the truck back together and will probably wait till then to post new pics. I have a buch of old shots and some recent ones of the truck on blocks , minus the motor I might put up. I'm trying to figure out how to post a link to my photobucket . Any hints? JOhn |

Hit cntrl+C or right click and copy. Make sure the URL doesn't include TH_ before the image name. If it does you have the URL for the thumbnail and can simply delete the TH_ part (this is actually a short cut I use). Then back on this site select the Insert Image button and paste the URL in that field. Hope that help. Looking forward to seeing the pics! |

Re: 1 piece window
Hey John,
What did those seats come from and did you make the door panels or did you have them made. That interior looks sick. Nice and simple and all covered in black leather, nice. Posted via Mobile Device

Re: 1 piece window
Thanks Chapstr
The seats are out of a '98 Lincoln Town car. They fit pretty good but I chopped down the backs so they would be under the window. The door panels are made from plywood and foam with some resin in a few places. The pulls and the trays at the bottom are from a 90's chevy truck and the handles are from a Honda(wrecking yard specials) |
