headlite bucket difference

I understand the headlite buckets are different on 67-68 than on 69-72. Can anybody tell me the difference and why the headlite and everything else is the same thanks

Re: headlite bucket difference

A 67-68 core support does not have the bucket welded to it.

Yes, I know, what I meant is the headlite retainer (bucket)

Re: headlite bucket difference

If your talking about the part that attaches with the spring & adjuster screws that the bulb bolts to, I think they are the same. IIRC, seems like I used the 1970 ones on the 68 core support I bought from you a couple years ago!

I am talking about the bucket itself, not the springs nor adjuster screws, if you have a lmc cataloug you will see where they sell the retainer for 67-68 and they sell 69 to 72. I cant see where they are different

Re: headlite bucket difference

the mounting points differ, as do the holes for the springs. I modded some 72 units for my 68 core.

Re: headlite bucket difference

The left and right buckets are THE SAME for the left side and the right side on my 1968 core support.

If you are looking at the LEFT FRONT of a 1968 core support, the headlight adjusting screws are located at the TOP of the bucket and to the LEFT of the bucket.

Again, if your are looking at the RIGHT FRONT of the support, the headlight adjusting screws are again located at the TOP of the bucket and to the LEFT of the bucket.

Don't ask me why... but I had to buy an extra set of buckets from JunkyardJohn just to get the one I needed.
