ECE rear drop spring unloaded height?

I bought an ECE rear drop kit from another board member who told me it was a "brand new in the box" 5" drop kit, but turns out it's used and the guy he bought it from didn't know what drop it is.

What I'm looking for is the height of a 4", 5" and 6" ECE rear drop spring that is unloaded, not installed on the truck. It needs to be an ECE drop spring because the amount of original height will vary from other manufacturers if they have a different spring rate. If someone has any of these sitting around waiting to be installed could you take a quick measurement for me?

Thanks in advance!

Not yet, I figured I'd try the forum first since I didn't buy the parts directly from them.

Re: ECE rear drop spring unloaded height?

Thanks for the picture, mine measures just shy of 10 inches so likely a 4" drop spring. I called ECE and Mark was nice enough to measure one of his 5" drop springs as well and his was a hair over 9 inches.

Looks like the "new in box" 5" rear drop kit I bought is actually a used 4" drop kit.

Does anyone have a 4" spring they could measure just to confirm?

mahanian

I just installed a set of ECE 4" drop coils yesterday. I had no idea on what I originally had on my truck (lowered by PO) I was surprised to learn that the ECE 4" coils were the same height as my original coils. All this said because I just measured the ones I removed and they measure 10 3/4". Hope this helps.
