700r4 with ECM, will they work with no carb?

Hey everyone, I tried searching but no such luck. My question is will my 700 still work after I removed my quadrajet?
Heres the back story, its an '83 C10 with a 305/700. I replaced my quad with a Edelbrock and swapped the dizzy for a vacuum advance HEI. Since I unplugged the carb sensors and the dizzy, will the ECM still lock up the converter? Thanks for any help!

I may be wrong but I don't think the computer is involved here. I have an '83 K20 and mine only had a vacuum switch and the brake switch.

i can't say for sure how long my lockout has been disabled, but i have a sinking feeling that it has never been hooked up. i used to drive this thing as a daily from 99-06. my transmission is still going good.

i also have an aftermarket carb (600cfm holley). as soon as i get that connection cleaned out i will plug it back in and hopefully it works.

You can put any carburetor you want on it just make sure your tv is connected in the proper geometry.
