Heater hoses??

I found a ton of info on where to run my heater hoses from the search button..... but I'm still confused. I got a new rad for cheap but it doesn't have a heater hose inlet on it like my old one. Can I just unplug my water pump and run my hose there? Will it still work properly? why would they make an inlet on the rad when you could just run it to the water pump?

I know you guys will be able to help!!
Thanks!

It sure will. I never understood the reason to have the return hose going to the radiator either
when you could just do as you're wanting to do.
Just remember to get a hose nipple that's 3/4" diameter for the hose.
The feed line to the heater is 5/8" and the return hose is 3/4".
