Swap from power to manual steering?
I know, why? Well I'm building my '70 as a drag truck, but may see a little street duty. I want to lose the power steering gear and res. mainly because of the pulley/reservoir, but also because of the weight. My question is if the manual steering gear box is a direct bolt in and if so which years will work or are they all the same i.e. spline, ratio, bolt pattern? As an option if I plug or loop the in/outlets on gear box will it perform like a manual steering gear box or be harder because of ratios and will it damage the box?
Thanks for any info.......Jeff
