Need help no turn signals on my '88 Chevy pickup

Ok so my tilt column was all busted to hell that was in there. Turn signals did work but quit working a couple of weeks ago and never had wipers with the old column. I put a newer column in last weekend. Still got no damn turn signals. I checked the fuse and its still good, running outta ideas lol! I do have flashers though. Anybody have any ideas or suggestions as to what might have caused this?

Re: Need help no turn signals on my '88 Chevy pickup

I'm thinking that it's the turn signal switch, or the wiring that connects it to the rest of the truck. You said the old one was "busted"; so, WHAT was busted. Any of it involve wiring? Did you transfer some of the electricals from the old to the "new"? If the 4-ways work, front and rear, then you know the bulbs are good. Didja check the turnsignal relay (flasher)?

Do you have a Chilton's or Haynes manual? They have wiring diagrams, that are good reference material.

Re: Need help no turn signals on my '88 Chevy pickup

Ok the tilt column was busted and the bearings or what ever that are inside were shot. So it was so loose and moved around so much that the truck would shut off lol. The windshield wiper/turn signal lever were busted completely off. I used all the same wiring it looked good and I kept all the electronic stuff on the new one that it came with. Everything else works fine. Just weird that the blinkers quit. Going to borrow a manual this weekend. Thanks

It sound like it could be a flasher to me too.
