Someone Better Stop Me..

Well I was driving home tonight and drove past a 78 Suburban for sale.

The sign in the window said $300 OBO and "RUNS".

It is in pretty rough overall shape but 100% complete. It is a 1978 2WD 1/2 ton. Exterior is two tone brown and white with brown colored bucket seats (factory) in front and two rear bench seats. It has a 350/350/12 bolt with AC. Body is shot (typ MN rust), but like I said...it's all there. I bet if I went back and knocked on the door I could get it for $200. I really don't need the thing or anything on it, but at that price I could part it out pretty dang easy or depending on how it "runs" try and clean it up and sell it for a pretty decent profit.

What do you guys think?

i say do it. for that price you really cant go wrong.

if you dont have to pay a bunch to smog/register/insure it, then its definately worth it.

if it blows up on the way home you can still get $300 for it

Go for it! Make him an offer for $200 and make sure he has clear title. You can make much more than that if you part it out and sell on Ebay!

Well I spent too long picking my nose and went back after I returned from my weekend out of town...Burb was gone so I knocked on the door and asked the guy if it was sold, he told be "yeah" and I asked him how much he let it go for and he told me "$175"!!! He told me he just need to move it since he was moving soon and didn't want to deal with it.

Oh well, I really didn't need another vehicle (already have 4) and the idea of sleeping on the couch (my fiance was opposed to the idea) didn't sound to good anyways.

Maybe next time...

Get a nicer couch, some are very comfortable to sleep on.

Yeah, but that would have cost me more than the Burb!

...not to mention couches don't give you much "lovin" if you know what I mean.
