Halogen Headlights with Integral Turn Signals??
Is anyone using those Halogen headlights with the turn signals built into them. I need to upgrade my headlights and also want to eliminate the turn signal housings from my grill. I saw these at a swap meet about 2 years ago and I'm kicking myself for not buying them.
Pictures, suggested dealers, problems with installation? |

These guys have them also but they are a bit pricey. Scroll down to the "Snake Eyes".

Re: Halogen Headlights with Integral Turn Signals??
I went with some that have clear lens with amber LED lights. They seem to work well but I don't have my truck on the road yet to see how they work in the dark.
I like the way they look. You know less is more. Marc

Re: Halogen Headlights with Integral Turn Signals??
Youngrodder, thanks for the reply with the picture, I really like the look!
Are those the Snake-Eyes products i've seen on the net? What did you pay for them? I found these for $70 with the tri-bar insert (althought the ad says per pair? That seems a bit too cheap). http://www.southernrods.com/categori...duct-2186.html Last edited by Atomsplitter; 02-23-2011 at 11:23 PM. |

Re: Halogen Headlights with Integral Turn Signals??
I have headlights from Rodworx, but not the ones with integrated turn/parking lights. Mine have been installed and outside for nearly 2 years with zero issues. Once my '50 pickup gets to the point of needing headlights I'll again go with Rodworx.

Thanks. No these are not the same ones (snake-eyes) that you referenced. Those look to have an amber lense with a regular bulb behind the lense. Mine have a clear lense with an amber LED. I like them because you don't notice them unless they are on plus they are very bright. Look at the bottom of the page on the supplied link for a better idea. I bought them from Chevy's of the 40's http://www.chevsofthe40s.com/shop/se...skip=40&Max=40 They sell for $85.00 each. Marc

youngrodder, I like those lights better than the tri bar ones I have. I also like the ones you have that have the clear turn signal lense and the amber LED, you don't know they are there.

Re: Halogen Headlights with Integral Turn Signals??
youngrodder, You are right I can see way cajundragger made his own. I paid less than that for my whole truck! I would like to see what they look like in the dark. I still think the best bang for the buck is the ones you have.

Re: Halogen Headlights with Integral Turn Signals??
I have what looks like the same ones as youngrodder, I've had them on the road for about a year now. I haven't been very happy with them. The amber LEDs function as running lights and turn signals. The difference between them just on and when they flash isnt much. I disconnected the running light option so they are off unless the turn signal is on, The flashing LEDs are more noticable that way. The spread of the light is slightly uneven on my set. Maybe my set was just a bad batch but good luck contacting the maker. I guess my overall issue is the big price tag with poor craftsmanship
