original and replacement parts?

how can you tell the difference on the fenders, doors, hood etc.

sometimes the primer used can be a good indicator, if the pannel has never been stripped bare.

Maybe look for a stamp somewhere on it. My repro bumber has "taiwan" stamped on the underside of it.

well i picked up some truck doors from a 72 that im going to cut down to blazer doors and there is no dings, no rust, and no bondo.

so just wondering if there is a way to tell if they are original

mine have a kind of sound deadener sprayde on the inside. steel door pannels

Is the truck still around? What about the SPID? You could check color on the SPID and the original color on the doors if they've been repainted.

bought them off of craigs list and he didnt have the truck any more. and the inside has been painted metallic goldish color but the out side is a red, i sanded down to metal and i only went through the red and a primer

haha that's typical. better than half of the new parts we put on our trucks are from somewhere overseas...saddens me to know that they're not all-american rides anymore.
