I have heard they are bullet proof but you either have a single wheel drive or you can go with a locker but no in between. Yes it is the Eaton.

Re: 3/4 Ton rear end ID?

Same rear in my 3/4ton 4x4 I bet its got some low gears in it. Like stated there either peg legs or lockers lol. Im still searching for a center section with a locker and 4.56 gears. Almost impossible to find parts for.

Re: 3/4 Ton rear end ID?

Thanks guys'

I bought this truck no engine or trans, lots of rust, basicly a parts truck. I was trying to figure out if it was worth saving. Any way to tell if it's a locker with out taking it apart? All your comments are much appreciated, Greg

With the tires off of the ground, rotate one. If the other turns in the same direction, it is a posi/locker. If it turns in the opposite direction, it is open.

Re: 3/4 Ton rear end ID?

I asked the same questions a couple years ago. Here's a thread to the advice I got back then:

Good luck with the build (and keep your 8-lug 8-lugs!)
