Blower Motor wiring issues.

Look at the picture. When I started my rebuild, I didn't pay attention, why would this hole be so big for the wire. Was something supposed to go there? Thanks

That's a head scratcher. Did the truck have aftermarket ac?

that should have been a bulkhead connector/wire grommet by the looks of it

Actually that is a field mouse access hole. Almost a requirement on these year trucks. Sorry could'nt resist.

Re: Blower Motor wiring issues.

Sorry this picture sucks, but at least you can see the wire on my firewall in the pic. It seems there is a grommet that fills that dead space around the wire. Hope this helps.

Yes there is a grommet but they are usually about 1/2" or 3/4" in diameter...

Re: Blower Motor wiring issues.

His hole did look a little ginormous to me, but I thought maybe it was the picture causing it to look differently.

Re: Blower Motor wiring issues.

Just looked at mine and it is only the 1/2-3/4" rubber grommet around the wire.

If you measure it, someone can probably measure some of the other firewall holes on the driver's side (speedo, throttle, etc) and see if you can get one of the factory one's to fit.

Re: Blower Motor wiring issues.

Is it an A/C truck? or just heat? Will try to post a pic of mine I am taking apart now. From the looks of it on my pic a heater hose is running there if that is between the a/c box and blower motor.
