Electric Fans

What size of electric fan(what cfms) would i need to keep my 402 cool? And what brands of fans do you guys recomend?

Fans

I have a 70 GMC w/454 and the fans suggested by Bouncytruck work fine.

Also, what where did you get your headers? I just got some coated from Summitt that they assured me would work and they mount to low. I have a 5" drop in from and need something like a Chevelle shorty.

I have a 94 camaro radiator and fans in mine...you could probably find some fans in a junkyard that would work well.

I got my headers from jegs, they are Dynomax cerama coats, they hang down just barely if at all below the body

You might want to check into the Perma Cool fans that Jegs and Summit sell. The 18" fan flows 2500cfm. Also, is your 402 stock or high performance?

They have a fan on jegs that pulls 4600 cfm. I will either go with a 16" Spal fan or the dual 11" with 2780 cfm pull. Only thing about the dual is the high amp pull. I am also considering a direct bolt in like this one one, but only pulls 2100 CFM

how many cfms do i need to keep my engine cool in town goin bout 20-30 mph

I was thinking of getting that setup that Figment put a link for. Should keep a mild 350 cool with a 3-core radiator without A/C right? Thanks.....Lumpy

Well it still depends on several factors, like if a shroud is used or if the fans cover the majority of the radiator. And also depends if your towing. I would think that 2500 cfm should be plenty for just driving around, maybe get away with a little less.

Yeah i saw that set up in classic trucks but 300 dollars and 2100cfm isnt much for that much money, but it does bolt up directly which i like

Here is a dual fan setup for 67-72 trucks. I like how all the wiring is pretty much done and bolts right to the shroud holes. Lumpy
