Old guys knee's, lowering just a little
Anyone who's seen an 08 Silverado WT 2wd has proably noticed it sits as high as a 4wd.
Not only does it look funny, its a pain to climb in and out of. I'd like it lower but not too low. I haul stuff and use a utility trailer now and then. I've seen many lowered trucks and they look great (4/7 drop ?) I just wonder if thats too much for working purposes. Anyone have issues hauling after a drop? Not unusual for me to pick up a load of firewood or broken concrete. Torn on which way to go, not like I am in a hurry. Have to get the $ first. Considering the Eibach 38110.530 for a 1.7/2.4 drop. Price is right. Vendors, opinions? Seems there are sites with pictures of different heights for the 67-72 but is there the same thing for NNBS?

4/7 is too low if you want to work the truck and aren't too concerned with looks. If you use McGaughy's spindles in the front for 2" drop and remove the rear block plus use a drop shackle for 4" in the rear that's a great start and cheap. Don't bother with lowering springs in the front.

My friend had a 4/7 on his. He said he hauled a yard of rock in it once and didn't have any issues. He did have 24" wheels on it that rubbed a little in the front on agressive turns, but that's all he ever complained about.
Funny thing was, I didn't know it was a 4/7 drop...it looked more like a 2/3, but I guess the big wheels had something to do with it.

NONHOG,... listen to Leevon on the NNBS truck lowering.
He's had lots of experience with different brand lowering products, on his own ext-cab truck. There's rumor, that he's lowering a crew cab,... but I haven't seen the pics yet. Ha. J/K. Seriously,... he wouldn't steer you wrong. McGaughys has the '07-'11 truck suspension figured out.

McGaughy's caught a little flack about the top ball joint taper not perfectly matching even though it's functional. I have that version and they work fine. They fixed that and are powdercoating them now too, no problems at all.

Thanks guys, good info. I'll likely start with pulling the blocks out.
Then get spindles and hangers for a 2/4?

i would suggest 2 all around. that way you still have a slight rake for when you haul.

Blocks out, man are those u-bolts a bugger. I am spent twisting them off and on. Even got the air gun out to speed it up a little. Having "air" issues in the shop so it was still a chore.
3/4" drop well its a start not real noticable. Best get back to what I should be doing.
