99-07 seats?
Hey I have a mint set of dark grey seats from an 05 chev, and was wondering if anyone has bolted a set into there square? Would like some pics
I searched and found 88-98 seats but nothing newer. I once installed a bench from an 88 into an 84 shorty, I had to cut down and rework the mounts and it turned out great, I also put a seat from a 94 dodge into my 77 stepper with a full box tube frame under it. Also worked out great. But wouldn't mind using the newer chev seats with the integrated seat belts in my next project |

Re: 99-07 seats?
I put a set of 02 Silverado seats in my 75 K5, but putting them in a truck is going to take more work to fit. The truck has the hump in the floor that the K5 doesn't. The 02 seat (any GMT800 seat for that matter) tracks are more integral to the rest of the seat frame than any other seat I've seen. This means it's tall. In my K5 it was fine because the floor is flat and bolted down the seat height was pretty close to stock. With the extra tall hump on the truck floor it's going to force the seat up by the same amount without serious alteration.
Looking over my seats when I put them in, there wasn't an easy way to remove the track from the frame. The problem is in the fact that the seats include the seatbelts. Everything is tied together to provide structure and strength for the seat belt mounting. I'm not saying it can't be done, but it will take quite a bit of fabrication.
