Where do I find.....

...the o-ring that goes on the dip stick tube to the transmission?

Went to local autoparts and they suggested a generic o-ring. I can't take it off to match it, so I was hoping they would have one.

Any ideas would be great

Re: Where do I find.....

If NAPA or a real parts house doesnt have it, try a transmission shop. Its a cheap part but you dont want to just try anything like a goof from oreilly's would tell you to do, or you will be waisting your time. You also will need to drain the pan, otherwise when you pull the old one up and out of the case, you may get a ton of fluid leaking out until it levels off.

Re: Where do I find.....

well couldnt find my napa reciept but oriellys list them as
Pioneer seal auto dipstick o-ring part number 760014-5 or a 762008-10 depending on what trans it is.
you can pull it up on their website and check to see which one you need for your application. best part....there both under a dollar!

hope that helped!

Re: Where do I find.....

If you have a factory dipstick it shouldn't be an o-ring, you can usually find it in teh help section of the auto parts store Dorman 65113 or any tranny shop would have one for around $3
