Removing the A pillar drip rail?

I am thinking of removing the A pillar drip rail on my 65 because they're not in the best condition. Has anyone that's done this had problems with rain leaking past the door seal? This will be a daily drive so it will see rain on the highway.

Alan did replace his in this thread. maybe last summer. I know that it is a long thread and I think that it may be around last summer some time. or just sent him a pm and I think that he will gladly respond to you.

You will have to regap your door by adding some on the door top edge by welding on the top part of the door edge and grinding down.When you shave your drip rail there will be a bigger gap on the door than there is now.If you do the job right it will look really good.

Shaved mine I like the look. You do get some extra gap but it looks ok. I dont have any problems with water leaking in.

Thanks Ron for the referrence to my thread.

I did remove my gutter on my A post. Yes it does open up the gap some. Mine has never been water tested yet. As long as the door seals up good I don't foresee any problems.
