235 Starter question
My 1951 3800 decided to eat a starter today. Not a problem -it actually looks to be the one that came on it - for real. Before I got it some one did me a favor and put a 58-60 style 235 in it -runs great- I also converted to 12 volt a long time ago. My question - Is there a difference in the # of teeth on the drive between the 6 volt style foot activated , and the 12 volt foot activated starter ??? I assumed for years they were alike reguardless. I have never had a problem with a 6 volt starter even after converting to 12 volts - always seemed to do better.
