Hey, Hows it going? I've about got a welding one together, then have to edit it before it will be ready. I'm working on a project right at the moment (I'll show some pics) I've had my eye on a 68 chevy SWB fleetside for some time and got talked into doing this job a while back and get the 68 in a partial trade. Anyway, just about done on this project. I got a great truck I'm using to do the cab stuff, even got some NOS "A" pillar assemblies to install, ever even seen these? They go from the roof down the windshield post all the way down to where the fender bolts up to the cab in front of the rocker, even have the upper and lower hinge nut plates on them. They're beauties! The cab videos will be worth the wait.
I should have the welding video edited real soon, it shows the fuel filler patch being installed and covers some welding and metal finishing technique. |

E, Where did you find those a-pillar assemblies? I wasn't even aware those were available. Seen some cabs that could REALLY use them.

T, a fellow board member found them on ebay. They look like they have been sitting on a shelf gathering dust for 30 years...LOL..... The cab I'm using for the videos will benefit well from them

current project 67  402BB stout th350 3.08's with a locker. Plan on tubs 18.5's out back! Yeah I would like to see the vid as well. I'm trying to decide if I'm going to do the body work on my 70 Lemans myself or let my body guy do it.
Body guy I use does a lot of high end stuff.. Benz, Porsche, BMW. He does incredible work. He pasted a couple of my cars back together when I was younger. Last time I was over there he had a Lamborgini Contach he was working on. It was a early narrow model and the guy that owned it wanted it wide bodied. John (Body guy) didn't want to do it. that type of work is time consuming. When you figure in the time it's not very porfitable. Guy that owned the car kept bugging him so he he pulled out of thin air $60k as the estimate to do the job at his leasure. Guy went for it. First time I saw the car was afer he pulled off the old body work. The only sheet metal on the car he didn't replace was the hood. Naked Contach looks like a fat indy car with no skin.
