My Used to be Jeep Cherokee

Wel I'm bored at work so I thought I would post some pic's of my other project. I used to be big into offroading, but kind of got outa that but still have my Jeep. Now I'm more into making it something it wasn't supposed to be. I can't find any pics of what it looked like when I first got it, but I did find some of it during the changes

The 1st pic shows what the back end looked like the 1st time I did it, had a 22 gal fuel cell under the spare tire. It worked but I wanted a functional bed so I began chopping again. I cut the back end almost completely off, redid the wheel wells with tube and made brackets for a Comanche tailgate that opens.

Ill see if I can get the other pics loaded and explain the rest.

Re: My Used to be Jeep Cherokee

I put longer Chevy springs in the rear, cut out the old rusty rockers, and moved them up. I also made all 4 doors removeable, just open them up and pick up they come right off, not really sure why I did that but I did. And I know I need to clean the garage out too.

Nice! That think looks like fun. Removable doors are great. More like a true "jeep" that way. I can't wait to go to town on my fj40. Planning a spring over and will be putting some miles on my tube bender.

You shaved the rear door handles?

It doesn't have a rear seat. I caught the handles on a tree and neither rear door opens from the outside, so I just decided to shave them, because I never used them anyways. If the weather gets a little better I'll actually start working on it again and get some better pics.
