cab and chassis specs??

Hi does anyone know the frame specs for a 79 chevy cab and chassis? My friends truck had an ambulance box on the back of it originally but has since been removed.

Thinking about turning it into a crew cab with a flat bed to use as a mean hauler for a gooseneck trailer.

I looked around and couldnt find anything on it.

Not sure but I think the frame loos to be at least a foot (if not more) longer than a reg long bed frame.

Thanks!

Re: cab and chassis specs??

Hello,

Frame length depends on wheelbase. My frame ('84 K30, also cab-and-chassis) has a wheelbase of 135.5", just 4" longer than a standard cab pickup. The frame is roughly 9" longer overall, with the pickup being 204.13" and cab-and-chassis being 213.58"...

There is a great chart here in this thread (thanks GM72K10 ):

http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=378425

Shows frame thickness, rail height, length, etc for all 10-30 series frames. Straight from a GM manual, so you know its accurate.

Hope this helps,

Joe

Here you go. 1984 is close enough to 1979.
