Hey it's just a road trip, come on. I'll be happy to load you up. lol I posted a for sale thread in 73-87. Hopefully someone will buy it soon. I'm running out of room for all these leftover parts lol. This one is closest to actually being drivable so updates should be fairly regular until I run out of money, or get interested in one of my other ones again.

Yeah that's typical lol. I found a deal one time 600 miles away, the day after I got home. I spent a week there about 2 blocks away from the car.

Re: 65 C30
Talking campers, there is a used car lot here with a 4,5,6 camper like the one pictured, single rear wheel, 20 series I think. 6 cyl 4 speed with under dash AC, the cab and sheet metal are pretty clean rust free items, the camper is pretty rough and would require a complete overhaul though. Would be neet to add to the collection.

Re: 65 C30
Well I got laid off, so Ive gotta sell some stuff. I figured I'd give you guys first shot at the C30 before I put it on ebay. It runs good (292) and drives but needs brakes. Comes with new stock brake parts, and complete front and rear suspension disc/ hydroboost /dana 70 from the parts truck. 16.5 wheels with good tires and the original 18's. I'm gonna hold on to the 19.5's and 454 but will let them go with it if the offer is right. I'm asking $1700 to break even but cash talks .

Re: 65 C30
My 292 in my '66 Burb gets about 10 mpg, though it needs a carb rebuild.
I'm running 17.5 inch rims with bias-plys that measure around 31" tall, with 411 gears. Tops out around 70, and it's screaming! 55 feels okay, but definitely uses up fuel. I do best around 40. Needless to say, I'm looking for a new rear end... New wheels and tires, too. Last edited by Oregoon; 12-14-2008 at 03:23 AM. |

Re: 65 C30
I'll take some pics tomorrow. Look on page 1 you can kinda see them in the pics of my panel truck. They are in good shape. the surface rust is on the trim rings. The tires can go with them. I put them on in 95 so I wouldn't trust them. I might have a set of 4x4 caps but i don't have a clue where I put them.

Re: 65 C30
Probably scored some stock 15" 6-lugs for $50 today. Found 'em on CL, but it's snowing sideways here in Portland, so I'm not gonna get to pick them up 'til later today when the roads clear up.
Probably going to swap to a 308 rear, when I can find one. I love my inliner, and plan on running it 'til forever. Last edited by Oregoon; 12-14-2008 at 01:29 PM. |

Re: 65 C30
Can't swap gear sets. 373, 411, and 456 use a series four carrier, while 354 and 308 use a series three.
Swapping the whole carrier might not be that hard, though I'd rather just go for a direct bolt in, especially since I'm lowering the truck anyway. What I need is a high-geared 71-72 five-lug rear. I already have dropped disc spindles at the ready. Scored those new (unused) for $100. Last edited by Oregoon; 12-14-2008 at 08:56 PM. |

Re: 65 C30
It's been awhile but here is an update. I never found a buyer for the truck. I drove it 2 miles from my house to where it is sitting now about 2 years ago. That was an experience. with square rear tires, fuel can in the floorboard, no muffler, 1990 inspection, and avoiding several cops at the gas station.
I did get a job, but never did anymore work to it. The title was partially filled out by a PO and DMV wouldn't accept it. They are a PITA with no common sense. It is now going to be stripped and hauled away for scrap. The body has gotten significantly worse since its been sitting . It still runs great . It will go to good use though. I'm trying to work out a deal on a 66 wrecker.
