Lighter Knobs...

Has anyone got pics of these little bastards? I've been looking locally at parked 67-72 trucks for a lighter to match my stock bezel knobs...Not one truck had anything in the lighter hole. Why would anyone take just the lighter out of the truck and leave the rest the waste away?

It's gotten to the point I don't think I know what I'm looking for anymore

I don't smoke but I still would like to have one to fill the hole and so I can get rid of what I have in place...or even a delete if I came across one of those.

Anyone got pics of the lighter Deluxe/Standard knobs or even the rare delete I've heard of?

Thanks

Brian

You could get a new one from any of the vendors on the board...they are pretty cheap.

Delete's sold here

Not mine. It's a small plastic disc that fits in the lighter hole and is a tad larger than the hole. Can be mailed for price of a stamp. Price varies $1 - $2 USD

thanks Dubie if you could do that...I'd like to get one locally (free) rather than pay shipping and vendor prices...

This is the 68-72 style. The 67 style is similar, except the knob is smaller in diameter and it is knurled on around the edge. Pic courtesy of GMCPauls

This is a delete that I took out of a 71 GMC and then painted it to match the dash

Dube, I don't think that's a lighter out of a 71GMC. Mine looks like the one posted by CPNE. Never seen one like yours yet. Maybe it's the older version?

Not sure. The lighter is what came with my 72, but the delete button i took from a 71 GMC. I also have a Bastard heater control. Still haven't found out what it came out of, but I like it more than the factory ones.

funny, the 2 other 67-72 trucks i've stopped to look at both had lighter deletes (72 chevy c20, 72 GMC c1500). when I found a '71 Chev in the junkyard, it had nothing in the hole (the whole lighter, not just the knob, was missing). if i were you, just go to a junkyard, find either delete or a lighter (depending on preference and availability) and just take it. they'll never miss it

That is a 69 and 70 Chevelle lighter. These are tough to find so you could easily sell it to a Chevelle person. :p
