I used ours. I cut it off close to the flare, left the shaft longer by cutting it off near the worm gear. Then I made a bushing for the one end, a collar from the hardware store along with a spring to keep it all together. I had flats milled in the shaft and made an adapter out of the end of the old S10 column that would go over the shaft and into the double D piece on the S10 steering shaft. I didn't use the 3 speed stuff though as we have a 4 on the floor.
