Drop Suspension Checklist

I have a '71 C10 LWB coil suspension truck. My plan is to bag the truck..I have been collecting info and pieces for the drop. I need help with a list of the all the suspension parts i need. Not gonna hop or stuff like that. Just wanna lay low on the cruise not hit switches all the time.

What I have:
front plates and cups
4 d2600 bags
got a list of fittings and reducers and hose size from another suspension thread

What I need:
bolt in c-notch
gonna run a paddle valve setup like way 2 lo sells
tank and commpresor system

what i got questions on:
1. Shock relocators (do I need them)
2. If yes what type of schocks do I use with them?
3. panhard bar (which type) I think they are a couple different types or maybe the companies use different titles.
4. front shocks -- do those need to be relocated or replaced
anything else that I am missing?

Re: Drop Suspension Checklist

Yes front shocks will have to be relocated, new front and rear shocks are need. diff and panhard bar a must. Check out porterbuildstreetrods.com I got the stage 2 economy drop without the bags and c- notch I already had those. The setup is real nice come with adj Panhard bar and a lower and upper shock mount tower nothing gets bolted to the diff real nice. He also provided me with front shock relocation bracketsas well as the shocks. rear shocks come with kit. I also Rec a sway bar kit

Re: Drop Suspension Checklist

You can make your own relocators for the rear... Super track bar is what you need I blieve

what i got questions on:
1. Shock relocators (do I need them) Yes.

2. If yes what type of shocks do I use with them? I ususally run a shock made for a 5"-6" drop spring.

3. panhard bar (which type) I think they are a couple different types or maybe the companies use different titles. I personally like ECE's Super Track Bar. Any adjustable track bar will work. The longer the bar,... the less amount of side-to-side movement during the suspenion travel.

4. front shocks -- do those need to be relocated or replaced
anything else that I am missing? Stock shocks need to have a relocated upper shock mount. The other option is to run a shorter shock.
Do you have any pics of your truck?

What I have:
front plates and cups
cut these down to 1"
4 d2600 bags
got a list of fittings and reducers and hose size from another suspension thread

What I need:
bolt in c-notch
build a pipe notch for like $5
gonna run a paddle valve setup like way 2 lo sells
tank and commpresor system

what i got questions on:
1. Shock relocators (do I need them) NO!!! use a monreo 5758 from a 50's chysler imperial
2. If yes what type of schocks do I use with them?
3. panhard bar (which type) I think they are a couple different types or maybe the companies use different titles. cut your stock one center your wheels at ride height and weld in a piece adjustable P bars are a big waste of $$$ since once set you never adjust them??
4. front shocks -- do those need to be relocated or replaced
anything else that I am missing?
see above for the front and in the rear you can flip your stock lower mounts and use the stock shock

If you have any question check my build and if you have doubts one how well it works see the pics of what I do with this truck and it has 12,000 miles on new england roads

Re: Drop Suspension Checklist

it sets the shocks up in a more effective way that and you dont have to build shock relocators. it bolts from the top shock tower to the lower one.

The lower bar is nothing more than a pick-up point for the lower shock mount. Its main design purpose is to allow a more efficient angle on the shock absorbers.

Re: Drop Suspension Checklist

The tank will only need two ports one coming in from the compressor and one going out to the paddle valves
