the size of the tank has nothing to do with the gauge. how was your gauge messed up?
as long as you have the correct 0-90 ohm sender it should work fine.

Rifter, I believe the 20 gallon tanks will bolt right up and I know they use the same gas tank brackets and straps as the 16 gallon tanks.
