Mid 80's 1/2 ton rear end
Does anyone know if a mid to late 80's Chevy 1/2 rear end will fit in a 59 Suburabn?
I measured them both and the they both measure dead on from center of leaf spring to Center of leaf spring and from backing plate to backing plate.....BUT, The 80's rear measures slightly wider than the stock at 63" (the stock measured out at right around 61-62") so would this work? can i just make it up with a different off set rim? or do you think it would be better to look for a different rear end? Thanks for your help guys! ![]() |

Re: Mid 80's 1/2 ton rear end
I had a full size rearend in my truck when I got it. It had 15 x7 rims on it and the tires just cleared the inner lip of the fender.
