Under Dash Heat ?

I was wondering if I could shave the heater box and get a under dash Heat/Defrost unit. Anyone ever heard of that ? A full Heat A/C is out of the Question. (too pricey by the time I get it up here)

I think Vintage Air has an inexpensive, compact under dash heater for about $150.
