BBC into a 66 K10
I've been searching and searching to see if anyone has a build thread documenting this swap already. I've seen a few on 64-66 c10 trucks, and some on 67-72 K5/K10s but don't think I've seen one on a 60-66 K10.
I want to keep the drivetrain locations the same, so I need the motor mount brackets to accommodate this. it is unclear whether there are some factory brackets that I can make work for this, or if there are some aftermarket options. It doesn't look like the aftermarket late model tubular type mount brackets will bolt to the 4x4 crossmember. Any thoughts, ideas, pictures? Thanks.

Re: BBC into a 66 K10
The 396 in mine seems to have stock mounts. I think mine came with a 283 original. Not too sure though. Uses 1 large bolt to the frame through the motor mounts, no crossmember, firewall is not beat in and running an HEI with limited clearance. TH 400 and a rockwell T221. What kind of transmission / transfer case are you running?

Re: BBC into a 66 K10
63GENIII,
that is interesting information. Do you have, or could you take some photos of the mounts? This 66 has a sm420 transmission and Rockwell t221 transfer case. The transmission will remain in it's current location and serve as the datum for positioning the motor. Perhaps it will just drop in on the small block mount brackets... that would be sweet. Re: BBC into a 66 K10
I will get them as soon as I can. It won't be till this weekend though. It actually looks semi factory as far as fit. The P.O. did a pretty sanitary job.

Re: BBC into a 66 K10
That's what I'm hoping to do here. I'm a little anal retentive and would like to do it right the first time.
I certainly would appreciate seeing as many pics as possible when you have the chance to snap some. Thanks! Posted via Mobile Device
