Re: 72 Chevy 4x4 Frame with 4'' lift

If you still have it, I'm highly interested. Currently in Afghanistan and won't be home till mid-April, or if you can trailor it outside of KC, MO for extra, maybe we can work something out. Thanks.

If I knew then what I know now I would have started building my truck with a set-up like this. What a deal guys. If I had more room I would buy it and keep it for later! Bump for you.

Re: 72 Chevy 4x4 Frame with 4'' lift

So I am interested....I live in Indy and have a 72 GMC c10(c15) with a 402 BB and a 400 Turbo trans that I would love to convert to a 4x4. Other than the transfer case....what else besides switching my cab, bed, engine, doghouse, etc. over would I need for this?

Such as steering? bumpers? radiator core support? would all that convert without alterations? What would I need to do to my transmission to hook up to the 205 transfer case, or would I need a whole new tranny?

Also do you have any way of getting it to Indy, OR meeting me half way?

Sorry so long Thank you for your time,

Rich

Re: 72 Chevy 4x4 Frame with 4'' lift

You need a divorced 205 transfer case to be able to run your 2wd TH400, you need a 4wd tranny tunnel or just run a 2'' body lift, Steering is already on the frame (it consist of a factory 4x4 box and a raisd steering arm), all the body should transfer with little or no modifications, probably need to get 4x4 body bushings.

I do not really have much time to help get it to Indy, sorry but work is hectic lately.

There are a bunch of great threads on this site about converting from 2wd to 4wd, do some searches and you should be able to find a bunch

Give me a call if you have any questions
314-267-9888

thanks
