NP208's are chain driven T-cases. NP205's are gear driven. They both came on a few different types of transmissions.
Your best bet is probably going to be find a good transfer case that you like, and get an adapter for it. I got lucky with my Dana 300. http://www.high-impact.net/transmiss...case_np208.htm That's where I got all my info from. Play around a little on the site and figure out exactly what you need to do and go from there. Just remember it's much easier to adapt the transfer case than it is to change the output shaft on the NV4500.
