Restoring Doors

Since all you guys do some crazy restoring stuff, have any of you attempted to restore the inside of your doors? Actually cutting the door to get to all it's guts and sanding in there and putting in all new components? I've been wondering about that for sometime now...Just curious if anyone has attempted that. I wanna see some pics!

Re: Restoring Doors

I'm wondering if anyone took a cutting wheel and cut the door to get to the guts and removed all the rust that way. I'm sure you could get it to be better than the way it came from the factory. Cuz I don't think you could remove all of it thoroughly if you just remove the door panel and used that hole that's already in the door. I wanna try it, but my truck is my daily driver right now. I don't really wanna have my truck look like a jeep lol.

Hope someone has some pics. Thanks!

Re: Restoring Doors

I just did mine, but mine had speaker cut outs so getting into the door was easy..

Re: Restoring Doors

Here are my doors.. I have more pics with some more progress I have made but they are on my phone. Replacing a lot of metal, including lower door bottoms and full door skins. Took them both completely apart so I could get to all the rust
