i would like to thank you both i am going to pull the backs off my 67 3/4 in a couple of days and this will help a whole lot .. had big trucks , years ago almost the same... i have a question i replaced the master and bled all 4 bleeders pedal is up and hard but brakes are still spunge at best ....after driving a while push down goes half way down and pedal pushes/ bumps like a skip back at my foot spungy need to mash on her to get one wheel to lock dont know which one locked believe it was rear couldnt see the tire mark any ideas

I'd do the wheel cylinders, I'm doin ALL of my brakes and bearings right now, most of the wheel cylinders had a small leak...

Have you already replaced the shoes/had it apart? Because it is such a pain to disassemble, many people never do the rear brakes on these trucks (mine appeared to be one). Metal to metal doesn't give much friction.

The best mod I did to mine after rebuilding the brakes was to install a used power booster (manual before). Stops great now.

i replaced everything wheel cylinders and all... you are right looks like they didn't want to touch the rears the parking brake lever was also hangin all good now

I'm gettin ready to re assemble everything right now.

I'm surprised how little fluid was left in the lines O:

I think the ol truck will stop pretty good, There's quite a bit of surface area for these drums to start slowin the roll.
