'67-'72 Suburban gone quad cab? . . .
Hey everyone, I'm about to get a new old chevy and in my search I ran across some 4x4 suburbans. (In case anyone has one I'm looking for a fairly clean '68-'72 4x4 pickup) Anyway I got to thinkin and I was wondering if anyone has ever made a first gen quad cab? I posted this on the pirate boards and somone suggested I try here. At the bottom is a crappy pic I made of what I am talking about. I personally have never seen this done, but apparently others have. It seems to me that it wouldn't be all that difficult. It seems like it would be basically a matter of grafting the back 8" of a standard truck cab onto a suburaban right behind the second bench. Then streach the frame and put a truck bed on it. If there are any pics I'd love to see them. Even my crappy chop in paint makes it look pretty cool. If anyone with some photoshop skills wants to give it a better go and make it look like it doesn't have four wheel steering that would be cool. Thanks much-

WOW Thanks alot, those look totally sick.
I was originally just interested to see a burban done like this, but now I might actually have to try and make it work for myself. Uhoh here I go again. Do you happen to know the people who built some of these rigs? Thanks again everyone for the pics. |

Now thats about enough of that! your puttin ideas in my head
jef5150, I checked out your website, you got some pretty cool tools to play with you should be able to build about anything you can dream up. Things have come a long way since I took machine shop back in high school, if I remmber our lathes were all Atlas and our mills were Bridgeports which were all WW2 battle ship surplus.
