Torque specs for GM Vortec Heads

Does anyone know what the torque specs for GM Vortec Heads are? I bought a rebuit 355 with new vortec heads on it. The PO can't remember if he torqued the heads. I have read all different things on the net. Thanks. Wayne

Re: Torque specs for GM Vortec Heads

GM service manual.."Torque angle method"

First Pass Torque all bolts to 22 ft. lbs.
Torque Short Bolts an additional 55°
Torque Medium Bolts an additional 65°
Torque Long Bolts an additional 75°

Easy "tried & true" method

1st pass 25 ft. lbs.
2nd pass 45 ft. lbs.
3rd pass 65 ft. lbs.
