Gues What my wife did for the first time...

Since it is a family sight I will just have show/tell you before thing go south.

The weather here the last couple weeks has been awesome and left me itching to get out and play. On Thursday I set up to meet a good friend of mine and do some 4 wheeling. The weather had been great and most of the lower country snow is gone now.

Since we each had things going on we agreed to meet before lunch on Sunday and wheel for the day.

Here I am feeding the monkeys at the grocery store before heading out. They were set and ready to go:

Over all the day was great. But it started off nasty. We had gotten about 4 inches of snow the night before on soil that had been seeing 60 degree days. As we met the clouds burned off and out popped the sun. It made things pretty interesting getting around even with locked diffs and mud tires we were working and on county roads.

Here we are at the numbered trail we were taking: Luckily my tires are tucked in my fenders a little better than his jeep. PS both of us hate mud and were really trying to "take it lightly", we had hoped for dry roads until snow line...

And mine was a little cleaner despite being the front vehicle...

The trail had some pretty good climbs due to teh mud and wet conditions, dry it would not have even needed the hubs locked in, We climbed all the way until I was breaking snow with the front grill... Here are the kids playing in the snow, of course snow balls were tossed, but the day was nice...

Well now comes the the woman. My wife has had very little experience driving a stick and almost not experience 4 wheeling. She lets me do all the driving. So I decided that it was a good time for her to learn. After all what could go wrong? We had another vehicle a winch, etc.

It started off good, just drove the county roads letting her get comfortible with the vehicle. By the end of the day she was braving one hell of a creek crossing. I have crossed this creek many time without instance, but this was by far the highest I had seen it. On the full sized pictures you can see sheer terror on her face through 3/4 of the series, then when she clears it the largest grin ever. She and the kids had a blast, we roasted hotdog, saw some indian ruins and laughed a bunch...

Only down side.... She ate up a u joint pretty bad. We limoed it home, but now we have to fix it. Glad it decided to make noises now and not in 2 months at Moab...

Sounds like a cool day.
I like how you do 99.8% of the driving, but she gets blamed for chowing the u joint... Too funny

My rule is, and always has been, whoever was driving WHEN the part fails, broke it.

That said, sounds like a great day. Those pics make your Blazer out to be a boat-quite the bow wake.
