Engine Position

I'm not sure if the depth or the breadth of my ignorance is more significant.

I noticed in one of the threads (the Jeep Fan thread?) that a six cylinder engine may have a different mounting location that a SB. I'm not opposed to a mid-engine pickup, but it may not be the best option.

Should the position be changed or is it fine to leave it where it is? Is the frame already drilled for both mounting locations? Does the tranny cross member need to be relocated? Is the entire question a sign of an overactive imagination?

Feel free to laugh at my expense.
